Favour's Next Step: From Surviving to Thriving

Meet Favour

During a recent Impact Space care drive in Calabar, our team met 19-year-old Favour Daniel Effiong. He stood out immediately, wearing both a Catholic rosary and Muslim prayer beads—a young man desperate for help from any God who would answer. Originally from Akwa Ibom State, Favour lives in a fragile, makeshift shelter beside a refuse dump where he has lived for over 4 years with no support.

Favour survives by collecting scrap metal and plastic. He earns barely enough to keep himself fed, leaving absolutely nothing for safe shelter, education, or savings. Yet, despite being pushed to the absolute margins, he holds onto a clear dream: he wants to return to school and become a professional barber or mechanic.

How You Can Help

We are stepping in to help Favour leave the dumpsite behind, and we need your support. Your donation directly funds a two-year plan to help him build an independent life:

  • Safe Housing & Care: Moving Favour into a secure home and providing basic clothing and meals.

  • Apprenticeship: Enrolling him in a barbering or mechanic training program.

  • Living Stipend: Providing a daily allowance so he no longer has to scavenge to survive.

  • Business Tools: Supplying the equipment he needs to start his own small business after his training is complete.

Every donation makes an immediate difference. Together, we can help Favour move from survival to success.
