Lighting Up Lives: Impact Space Uganda’s Care Drive at Yamba Childcare

Imagine a day filled with laughter, games, and the promise of a brighter future. That’s exactly what Impact Space Uganda delivered to 67 orphans and vulnerable children at Yamba Childcare in Bwambara, Rukungiri, Uganda, on January 21, 2025. More than just a visit, the Care Drive brought hope through inspiring talks, fun activities, essential donations, and a shared meal that warmed hearts and filled bellies.

A Day of Encouragement and Learning

The event kicked off with talk sessions where volunteers encouraged the children to embrace education and vocational skills as a pathway out of poverty. The discussions emphasized the power of education, self-reliance, and perseverance, offering hope and motivation.

Games, Prizes, and Fun Activities

After the motivational talks, the children engaged in a series of exciting games. Volunteers joined in, fostering team spirit and joy. Winners of the games were rewarded with school supplies like pens and pencils, as well as Impact Space Uganda-branded t-shirts.

Giving Back: Donations and Gratitude

Impact Space Uganda donated essential supplies to Yamba Childcare, including food and educational materials. The director of Yamba Childcare expressed deep gratitude, acknowledging the ongoing challenges the orphanage faces, such as food shortages and clothing needs. He expressed a desire for future collaborations to further support the children.

Sharing a Meal with the Children

The event also featured a shared meal, where volunteers took the opportunity to serve lunch to the children. The atmosphere was filled with smiles and laughter, making it a memorable experience for both the children and the Impact Space team.
