Impact Space Inc. Shares Love at Rose of Sharon Home – 26 July 2025

Impact Space Inc. Brings Joy and Support to Rose of Sharon Home in Ruwa Ruwa, Zimbabwe – 26 July 2025

Impact Space Inc. had a successful Care Drive at Rose of Sharon Home in Ruwa, Harare engaging with 86 children aged between 1 to 13 years. The home, founded by Dr. Maruta, graciously welcomed the team and shared an overview of the organization’s vision and operations.
The care drive brought together 15 Impact Space volunteers (10 adults and 5 juniors). Upon arrival, the team was welcomed with vibrant singing, dancing, and even gymnastics performances from the children, setting a joyful tone for the rest of the day.
The Head of the home introduced the care team, including the care home mothers and caregivers, and emphasized one of the home’s greatest strengths is in-house school. Several children are enrolled there, and former learners have gone on to succeed academically and professionally, with some attending tertiary institutions and pursuing careers that inspire the younger children.
Lisa Manyika, one of our volunteers, gave a short overview of Impact Space Inc., followed by Team Lead Ms. Rumbidzai Chemhere, who introduced the rest of the team. The group then split into storytelling sessions, allowing each child to read aloud and share their understanding. The day continued with Bible games, dancing, and bonding activities, including blowing balloons and photo sessions (respecting the children’s privacy where needed).
The volunteers prepared and served snacks, and shared a meal with the Rose of Sharon staff. Later, donations were officially recorded and handed over to the Head of the home, along with a cash gift presented by James Chatyoka to the patrons at Rose of Sharon.
Here are some of the reflections by the Team:

Shingie:

The children were so happy, and it was heartwarming to witness the impact of community support and care. The attention they received made them feel loved, valued, heard, and seen. It was such a great experience creating good memories with the kids.

Maureen:

I noticed the children love seeing new faces. They were happy to see us and really enjoyed the playtime. It wasn’t just fun for them, it was also refreshing and educative, especially the storytelling sessions.

Chenai:

My experience with the care drive was one of a kind. The children were genuinely happy to have us there. I learned that happiness doesn’t come from having much, the kids taught me to appreciate the little things. They crave warmth, and I’m glad we offered that. I thank God and the leadership for organizing these care drives.

Christer:

My visit to Rose of Sharon taught me the importance of resilience in the face of loss. The children may not have much, but they are so joyful and treat life as a gift. Their happiness reminded me that true contentment comes from within.

Team Leader – Ms. Rumbidzai Chemhere:

This visit reminded me of the true essence of community, compassion, and purpose. Despite their challenges, the children remain full of joy and hope, a powerful reminder that love and connection matter more than material things. I’m incredibly proud of the Impact Space team. Everyone gave their best from storytelling and preparing snacks to dancing and simply being present. We left the home with full hearts, grateful for the lessons learned and the memories made. This care drive was not just about giving; it was about growing, learning, and building meaningful relationships.

Thanks to the Impact Space Founder Director I. Nyarko for the opportunity to serve and spread love. Her leadership and heart for impact continue to drive our mission forward.
